Gemfest is an annual event with much community interest.

Christmas Party, 12 December 2021

The Frying Dutchies, also on Facebook, catered to the club for the Christmas Party.

From the club facebook page “A massive thank you and shout out to Marit and Remco, The Frying Dutchies, for catering our Christmas Lunch today! We loved every morsel!”

There was also a raffle draw. Thanks to those who contributed prizes.

Bruno and Helen Simonetto, well known traders of high quality and exotic slabs for cabochoning or lapidary will have a stall at CMLC on Saturday 26 September between 10 am and 2 pm.

Bruno and Helen provided the following photographs of samples (click or touch to enlarge):

If you have specific slab requests you can enter them in the form below (now removed).

In addition to slabs, there will also be:

  • Cabochons
  • Faceted stone (rough and finished)
  • Minerals (moldavite for example)
  • Jewellery (home made)

As is normal with stall based events, trades are cash only.

This is a club event for members. Visitors to the club can sign in and must wait for a member to accompany them who will help them with their interests. The club is happy to take visitors who are interested in joining the club on a tour of the club. Visitors must abide by both club rules and COVID-19 safety rules as clearly shown, including signing in, social distancing and allowed numbers per room.

The form (now removed) asked three questions

  • Are there any particular slabs you are interested in?
  • Name (optional)
  • Do you have any questions for Bruno? If you do please leave your questions and email address in the answer below so we can pass on your questions to Bruno for his reply.
